Procrasti-ravelry-ing
My MIL is coming to visit tomorrow. I should be cleaning. But my procrastination goes something like this:
Hum dee dum dee dum...I'll just check my email real quick. Oh look, I left Ravelry up. Just for fun, let me type in "sweaters" and see what everyone is making... OH *bleep*! Add that to the queue, add that to my Amazon shopping cart....I wonder if I already have yarn to make the Central Park Hoodie? Let's visit my favorite yarn store (aka My Stash) oh look, I have 7 skeins of Cascade 220, that's enough for a CPH...
An HOUR goes by. I have been warned that Ravelry is a time suck. It is a yarnaholic's paradise, but for all the time I spend deepening my love for patterns and yarns and project ideas....I could be knitting!
I mean, I could be cleaning!
Hmmm.
I could be knitting!
What's the point of having a queue if you don't get to the knitting? The "What if....Someday...." game only works for so long. What I love about knitting is the actually sliding of the needles through really pretty yarn. My Ravelry is getting ahead of my knitting. I feel a panic coming on. I'm so cool, I'm on Ravelry...smoke and mirrors! Hot jeans but no ass! Fancy bra but no boobs!
Next up, a sweater to wear to Rhinebeck. I will not have a lame Flickr mosaic thingy in January to recap the 2 scarves and a baby blanket I made in 2007. I will push on to be the cool, hip, super knitter that I dream to be. *sniff* I believe in actual knitting, and lots of it.
You know, I can keep going. Anything to keep from vacuuming cat hair.

Yes... keep pushing on to be the hip, cool knitter you (and I both) aspire to be. Perhaps I can live vicariously through you. Although I am making progress on the most simple socks known to man.
: )
Yeah, I'm a little scared to join in on the Ravelry wagon....my husband may never see me again! LOL!
I seriously need it to get organized though.
Ravelry has sucked my brain out and replaced it with Twinkie cream.
Annie, I feel your pain woman. I'm having a love/hate relationship with that Pandora's box that is Ravelery. Before it's existence, I couldn't remember the last time I completed something other than a sock, and NOW, lets just forget it! Together, you and I will get our acts together and have a hip sweater for Rhinebeck.

Replace cleaning with packing, and you've just summed up my life in a nutshell. Oh Ravelry!
Whats that Hila says???? Housework only comes before knitting in the dictionary...well something like that, I'm a horrible joke teller. I always kill the punchline but you get my drift.
Any chance you can get your MIL to claen your house? I mean, c'mon--ya made her a grandmother, right? I'm not on Ravelry, so I'm still knitting--you know how I'm late to join these things...I mean, I haven't even had a blogiversary yet!
That Ravelry addiction comes on quickly doesn't it? Between favorites and queues, if I get even a fourth of knitted projects done, that's pretty good isn't it?
Really excited about your CPH prospects! I'm resisting the urge to knit another one...
what color will your CPH be? perfect for Rhinebeck!
I discovered I can do a Babette Blanket sq. or knit simple garter or stockinet and Rav!!
That place it a bit of a timesuck itsn't it?
I'm avoiding Ravelry. I want to still knit.
i'm in but i have yet to really get 'in', i am afraid i will while away my time there rather than read others' blogs. so glad to find green gable KAL via your profile...just cast on. something adult...wow! BTW: more baby pictures. please. she is so cute!
Thank goodness I haven't had time to check out ravelry. It sounds like I might never come out, and I have other obsessions, like reading Harry Potter, to deal with!
