It's Over
My affair with the Baby Shrug ended tragically. I could no longer go on living in denial. It just wasn't going to work. (And there's a reason you should do a gauge swatch.)
Feeling down and embarrassed (I mean, I know better! But my eagerness got in the way. I couldn't drink, so I knit. Carelessly.) I console myself by whipping up a swatch for something else. The Debbie Bliss Matinee Coat. In pink.

While the baby bolero is cute as pie, the Matinee Coat is a true classic, worthy of a beauty like yours.
I hate when my yarn tells me "I told you so!" about swatching. I'm stubborn in my resolution not to swatch. :)
The matinee coat is beautiful. Bring on the PINK!!!
I'm sure the matinee coat is what Anastasia would really want to wear. Well... if she could indicate those kinds of choices at this point.
The jacket is beautiful - and that is the best swatch I have ever seen!
Too bad, gauge is always lurking and waiting to pounce if you give it a chance.
The little jacket is so cute.
I think the the Matinee Coat looks like a great choice :-)
R.I.P. baby shrug. The matinee coat will work - I can feel it.
See, the great thing about knitting for babies is that you've got a 50/50 chance of it fitting at some point. Too big? Wait a couple months(years). Too small? Ohhhh. bummer. Blame a growth spurt. That pretty yarn will look great on her at some point!!!
