Perfectly Normal

Many of you commented that I was giving a lot of yarn away, so I must have a huge stash. I don't think I have a HUGE stash. (I mean, c'mon, Mary has a Yarn Cave!). I think I have a stash appropriate for an NYC apartment. It's kind of spread through my home, very organized. Above is my yarn for upcoming projects. It's in a glass cupboard because it's pretty and inviting. "Knit me!"

Extra yarn for gifts, one skein thingy-ma-bobby's, or for "someday" is vacuumed into space bags and hung in the coat closet.

This is the black hole in the living room. It's my project bag that swallows random yarn. It usually spills out on to the floor, but recent destashing has tamed it down a bit.

This is my Finnish yarn that is kept in a closet in the Loom Room. It's just for looking.

Weaving yarns kept in the same closet.

Roving in the freezer.

Happy Snow day! I don't have to work and am reading blogs to stop myself from starting one today! Holy cowsers that's a lot of yarn you've got squirrleled away. I'm jealous, and now I want a stash, too. No! NOOO!

Anne under the pillow is perfect. I love it.

And I think it is perfectly normal too. This is speaking as someone who just had their last overnight guest led by my son with, "you get to sleep in my Mom's yarn room!"

Happy Valentines Day. I love your yarn.

hahah, why is the roving in the freezer? :)

i think that your stash is bigger than mine or about the same size. you gotta keep some goods on hand for the times when you HAVE to cast on and it's midnight with not an open LYS in sight!

The space bags hanging in the closet really caught my eye. What a great space saving idea. I like the yarn in the china cabinet - I enjoy looking at yarn and pondering future projects. And the yarn under the pillow - well, wouldn't it give a knitter pleasant dreams to be able to caress lovely yarn while falling asleep? What a neat and tidy stash you have.

My New York apartment around the corner from you could never support such a stash! I can't believe you have room for roving in the freezer. I'm impressed this is the "reduced" amount.

Schaefer Anne is good enough to snuggle with, is that it? Love it, but doesn't the hubby get jealous?

Awwww Schaefer Anne under the pillow...do you dream of socks???

Really, it's NOT a huge stash...MY stash is a HUGE stash and it's nowhere near some of the gargantuan stashes out there LOL

My stash is quivering at your stash, I couldn't resist showing it to Mr. B. and stating "see, my stash isn't big". He thinks I'm in denial, I think he doesn't comprehend and I can't wait to move so stash has some expansion room. I think your stash is lovely, some beautiful colors, I keep thinking about getting space bags, do they actually work?

I've always fancied the idea of using a glass case to display my yarn. It looks lovely!! :)

Wow! (found your blog from Wendy's)-- I covet your stash. I need to destash some books to fill one of my book cases with yarn, I think!
