Blown Away
Today at the Sit n' Knit Sock Exchange party I was the recipient of a wonderful surprise!
My knitting buddies had secretly knit a blanket for Anastasia. I am simply blown away.
It was a lot of work to put this together! Turns out they had started this project in the fall and had been secretly meeting. They even referred to themselves as "The Blanketeers".
I was honestly moved to tears.
Thank you so much! I think this is one of the coolest blankets ever!
THE BLANKETEERS!

I love how the blanket came out and I wish I could have participated. Now we can all erase curlicue from our memories as if it never happened.
Beautiful, what a lovely gift.
Wow, it's so beautiful! What an awesome knitting group you have!

What a lovely surprise! You have a great bunch of knitting buddies.
What a lovely blanket - this really must be a great group :-)
How sweet is that! You have one lucky kid, with all these people to knit for her. I'm sure she'll treasure it.
Gorgeous! Would they be willing to share where they got the pattern or how they did the edging? I think it's the most lovely blanket for a newborn. What a great heirloom.
awesome blanket!
Oh, Anne-Marie, how lovely! How lucky you are to have such kind IRL knitting friends.
Your blanket is beautiful!! I'm sure it will become a favorite heirloom in your family :) It's so very impressive and a very thoughtful gift from your wonderful knitting friends!!
The Sit 'n' Knit group is something else, I must say. How wonderful!!
So glad you like it! It was so much fun actually being able to surprise you, Gotcha!
very cute alphabet blocks blanket!
That is *so cool*. How sweet of them, I know you will treasure it forever.
Hooray, what a treasure!
Wish I could have been able to participate. It really did come out great. Congrats!
What an adorable pattern they chose! And a wonderful surprise!
What a wonderful gift! That blanket is truly amazing.
I'm bummed I couldn't make it Saturday to present the blanket and meet Anastasia. Here's where we got the pattern-they're alphabet washcloths that we knit together into a blanket. Be warned, not all the washcloths are made with the same number of stitches so putting it together was a challenge. Also, I improved on the Z because the instructions weren't great...and I expect other knitters improved on their letters as well because we're super like that.

So glad you and baby like it! I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
