Ooh la la!

So I have a birthday coming up. I haven't thought about it too much (seriously). I normally plan my own dinner party with my friends, but this year has been busy and I just haven't gotten around to it, and whatever. So hunky boyfriend tells me he has made a dinner reservation for my birthday...in Paris.

I'm going to France! This french girl is going to the motherland!

(About 8 hours knitting time there, fabulous dinner, French yarn stores, 8 hours knitting time back - love it)

So, any yarn store recommendations?

Oh you lucky lucky girl! My DH did the same thing a couple of year's ago for April Fools Day. I packed for NYC and ended up in Paris--JOY. Le Bon Marche(Barney's w/yarn)--Sevres-Babylone Metro/Left Bank--is my one stop for yarn and they have a La Droguerie section(yummy ribbons/buttons/trims). Anny Blatt, Bouton D'Or, Phildar, Rowan, Omaghi Filati. There's an AnnyBlatt shop in the Marais, but LBM has it all plus an amazing food hall. Just a skip away from St. Germain des Pres. Ton beau est tres sympa, n'est pas?

I second the rec for Bon Marche--how cool is yarn in a giant department store?! It's upstairs, near the luggage... and be sure to check out their supply of Phildar magazines, they are tres chic!
